“What a lovely honour to be asked to officially open Ballaghaderreen Community Garden. Thanks Jacqueline for the invite. Well done to everyone involved Maria and all the crew…to all the community garden volunteers… with Tidy Towns, Chamber of commerce all part of committee. It is a really positive project and a fabulous new community space that everyone can get involved with…Sustainable living at its best. Suzanne Dempsey and Marian Kelly Environment Section Roscommon County Council and Craig Benton EPA were also there having supported community composting and wormery. The site has been generously provided by Duffy’s Supervalu and local sponsor’s including Aurivo and others. With funding from Dept of Justice Integration fund this is a wonderful project. It was lovely to be part of the Oak planting ceremony.
It was lovely too to see Anne and Regina with the beautiful trophy for Ballaghaderreen’s Rehab 2018 Community of the Year Award ( recently presented to the community at People of the Year Ceremony at Mansion House).”
